The service of worship began with a musical prelude by the BESK Quartet, an all-woman string ensemble, ensconsed in the balcony above the Great Hall, along with tenor Jeffrey Rich (Pennys first cousin). The Reverend Howard Fleming performed the marriage service. |
|
| Female members of the wedding party were escorted down the aisle by Robert Rich, brother of the bride and a Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. The grandmothers of the bride Ernestine Rich of Pensacola, Florida, and Mildred Rosen of Margate, Florida lead off the procession. | |
| Next Robert escorted the mother of the groom, June Trivette of Hickory, North Carolina, to her seat, and Ava Rich, mother of the bride partway down the aisle to the arm of her husband Larry Rich. | |
| Jeffrey Trivette waited at the altar for his bride along with his father and best man, Charles Trivette... | |
| ... as the beautiful bride Penny made her way across the balcony and past the musicians, and descended the staircase solo. At the bottom of the staircase she was met by her parents who escorted her down the aisle. | |
| The bridal couple seem pleased with something, perhaps Rev. Flemings rendition of Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream? His Wedding Homily elaborated on this theme. | |
| After exchanging vows, Jeffrey and Penny were pronounced husband and wife, and they kissed. Can you tell that it was VERY hot in that hall. | |
| The recessional for all members of the wedding party concluded the service, accompanied by a Handel Hornpipe. And now the party began (or continued). | |
